PrincessP Parties at Polo with Pals!

Stomping the divots, nope leaping instead!
Picnic Stylin'

Go Seersucker or Go Home.

Dolce Love Picnic!

I can't think of a better afternoon than cocktails, picnics, horses and good friends. Snake and I went to Vive Le Polo sponsored by The High Museum of Art (yeah, we roll like dat). We were joined by a couple of friends that are also fans of dressing up cocktailing occasions (http://www.youstayclassyatlanta.com/). The P was so looking forward to the Best Picnic and Best Hat competition. Well, talk about a bunch of of BS. The competition must have been rigged. Somehow, even after having a color coordinated picnic set up complete with silver we lost the picnic competition. I figured that, at that time, we didn't win picnic as they were saving my sweet, sweet victory until the hat competition. Unfortunately, I was shafted. Like Bad.
After surviving a dual loss, and as you that know me I have some issues with my competitive side, I consoled myself with cocktails. We invented a brand new, and luscious cocktail that you must try:
Green With Envy:
1 part lime infused vodka
1 part Trader Joe's Sparkling Limeade
Serve in Champagne glass or over ice!
So, the day wasn't a total loss! We had such a nice Sunday afternoon enjoying the sun and, oh yeah, there was a polo match going on. That was pretty sweet too! We are so looking forward to next year, and my inevitable victory. I don't want to give anything away, but there may be coordinating dog/owner hats....a chihuahua in a hat, unbeatable!
Happy Summer!

PrincessP Entertains

So, as many of you have gleaned from my previous blogs, I am in the special event industry. It surrounds me with great ideas for parties and beautiful products to work with. Growing up, QueenB was always the queen of entertaining. She had Mardi Gras parties, a party to commemorate the anniversary of the lunar landing, and my favorite: the Kentucky Derby Party. This party was complete with mint juleps, and my dressed (much to my pre-teen mortification) in my riding habit. One year, she convinced DaddyP to have my horse brought over to graze in the front yard as the guests arrived. Yes, I inherited the entertaining gene.

This year I decided that Father's Day would be the perfect time to host a family shin-dig. ChezP is not the largest house, and can really only handle about 20 people for a party. Well, until we get the Party Basement up and running. Snake? I hear a weekend project coming...! So, it was QueenB, DaddyP and Snake's immediate family. It was quite the crowd. I decided to have it catered by one of my clients so I could focus on decor.

I had a great time designing this party, and I was so thrilled to have my vision come to reality. Enjoy! Oh, in case you were wondering the budget for the event just post a comment!

Thanks Jay and Shirley!

FORE!

Hey Snake, Let's don some brightly colored clothes and head out!
Steerage.Ahhh, Much Better!

The Spring is by far the best time of year in Atlanta! There are so many fantastic events to attend that require fabulous outfits!!!

Back in college, the Bellsouth Golf Tournament was a huge event on our social calendar. Unfortunately, having to be a grown-up and work had prevented my donning a brightly-colored outfit and partaking in the fun. Bummer. Schem (AKA: college best friend) and her boyfriend Sack had a standing date to attend this year's tournament. Mostly because Schem's dad has a sweet pad on the 16th green. Back in college, Schem's dad lived in a similarly beautiful home that was not located on the golf course. After two years of Schem and I coming back to Atlanta and embiding on his house account at the clubhouse, Schem's dad wizened up and bought a house right on the course. That way we don't have to charge anything! When our ice cubes got a little dry, we would simply saunter to the house! A wise financial move on his part. Well played, Daddy Schem, well played.

This year was a little different as we are joined by our handsome man companions who actually wanted to watch golf, not just dress cute and cocktail (in my world cocktail is a noun AND verb).

We had a blast! The girls did our girlie things, we laughed at the poor people in the stands that bought tickets, and enjoyed the day!

SIDENOTE: When you attend a golf tournament, it is not witty, cool, funny, or entertaining to ANYONE when you shout, "GET IN THE HOLE!" After each putt. Thank you, you tank top wearing tool.

So, A Guy Walks Into A Bar....

Dressed like this:

Wait, this one captures the essence even better. Note the polite outrage on the face of the waitress!
Your eyes are not deceiving you...it is still LIGHT out.

One Year Later

Behold the photo mantage that was our first wedding anniversary! We had the champagne, we had a fantastic dinner out, we had a romantic dinner and recreated our wedding, and we had the beach! Most importantly, we had each other and, with that, we have it all!
