Staycation, All I Ever Wanted....

No, this is not some sort of recession issue. Mother nature just decided to f with our plans this weekend. Our original plan was to head to the beach house on Saturday after work, and stay through Tuesday. Well, the forecast called for rain the ENTIRE time. I love spending 6 hours in the car as much as the next girl, but I usually am rewarded with some beach time. Snake and I decided to hang in da ATL instead.

So far, it has been a great decision! Last night was date night, and we really enjoyed it. My diet on the other hand, not so much. For my local readers, I'm sure you have been to JCT Kitchen on the west side of town. I really like this place, and used to frequent it for client lunches. Snake had never been, and I figured it was about time that he experienced the wonder of JCT Kitchen's truffle fries. Yum!!! We had a nice drink before dinner upstairs with a great cloudy view of the city and then headed down to some culinary greatness. As much as I like to tell myself I wasn't too "bad", that is pretty much is impossible. Fried oysters, previously mentioned truffle fries, some sort of gratin, and bites of Snake's fried chicken and mac and cheese. Yes, me thinks we ate more butter last night than the previous 6 months combined. If you see P running through Dunwoody like she is being chased by a knife-toting maniac you know why. Oh shit, I just remembered there was some bacon.

Snake and I also may or may not have registered for a 5k for Monday morning after a few drinks last night. I think we may regret this decision tomorrow at 6am....Oh well, it will be fun. Has to be better than the last one we did together in March. 38 degrees and raining, running through Atlantic Station. Yeah, not so fun.

Currently, we are enjoying a lazy Sunday together and wish the same for you and yours! Enjoy your Memorial Day. In all seriousness, thank a vet and say a prayer for those who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

1st Lt. Noah Harris, we think of you often. IDWIC, 13 hugs.

Ah, Bliss...

So, as I mentioned in my last post, I am currently at the beach. Mom and Dad's second home in Destin to be exact. We were supposed to be in Mexico this week to celebrate our anniversary/Snake's b-day this week, but due to the freaking Swine Flu we decided to cancel. What with my working for a caterer and a gym, bringing back Swine Flu could have proved problematic for either place of employment.

Luckily for me and Snake, QueenB and DaddyP have been investing years and every spare penny into a little house by the sea. You know what they say, when God gives you the chance of Swine Flu, head to your parents beach house instead. Yeah, they do say that.

Anyway, since we were no longer leaving the country, we cut our vacation down by 2 days and came here instead. Let me tell you, it has been fantastic. Just what the P needed. I'm not quite sure I had realized how much I had been working and just how ready I was for some time off. We've been to the beach, and even taken Dolce. Techinically, dogs on the beach are illegal here, but we've managed to avoid the sinister beach patrol. Dolce has also joined us on outings to the pool where she acts like some sort of tiny cruise director. She trots up to each group of people and wags her tiny tail as a welcome. As people depart, she wishes them a good day and returns to brighten the hears of other pool dwellers. Just DON'T put her in the pool. Not only would the chlorine reak havok on her dress, but Dolce HATE water.

Snake and I enjoyed a fantastic dinner at Commander's Palace! We were treated like VIPS and quite enjoyed that. The chef even chased us down in the parking deck to be sure we enjoyed everything. I am starting to wonder if they had us confused with someone else. That, or the chef has seen my cameo on "Somebodies". If you don't know that story, buy me a drink and I will tell it to you.

Well, I think it is time for another frozen Bitch on the Beach (kiwi-strawberry crystal lite, lime vodka, key lime juice throw in blender and enjoy!) and a swim in the ocean with my sweetie. Wish yall were here!

Miss Me, Bitches?!?

You will so be dressing up in costume soon...

How did THIS happen??

Hello from the beach Yes, there has been quite the lull in PrincessP action. That is mostly due to the fact that the P only had access to one computer in her life. Thanks to Snake coming through on our two year wedding anniversary. WTF, by the way, where DID the time go!?!?? Anyway, Snake hooked me up on the cutest, tiny, white netbook! Yay! Golf claps for Snake.

So, last few months have been a blast. Snake and I have turned over a new leaf and have started to really care about our fitness. We always worked out, but we are now taking it to the next level. I went through training to become a certified Body Pump instructor. On a regular basis I get to bark, "assume the push up position." We have also taken up running. A year ago, I couldn't run a mile. Now, we have done a few 5ks, and are preparing for the Peachtree Road Race this July! All of this fitness and good living has corresponded with about 30 less pounds of the P to love which has its advantages. Mostly the new clothes advantage!

Back in the day, I would have given my left (chunky) leg to have the chance to spend $100+ on a pair of jeans. Much to Snake's chagrin, that day has come! I spent 30 minutes doing a happy dance in the Nordstrom dressing room!!!

That same week, we were taking a beach trip to celebrate SugarBall's birthday! It was a big one! SugarBalls and his buddy, (I haven't thought of a creative name for him yet) came down to our beach house to celebrate. Oh, and celebrate we did. After consuming cocktails that were larger than our heads complete with all matter of umbrellas, fruit and sparkly shit floating in them we decided to wander around this quaint water-side shopping area. After consuming another mysteriously colored drink I thought it would be a SMASHING idea to purchase a pirate hat and foam sword from the local toy store. Our beloved birthday boy was then dubbed, ButtPirate. It was all fun and games, until we happened upon a "real" pirate. By "real" I mean a really creepy guy in his 70s that hangs out in this shopping area in FULL pirate regalia. Despite the soaring temperatures this supremely creepy dude hangs out and makes balloon animals for tourist children. He will also take photos, "Hey Mom, remember the time you got my picture with a registered sex offender dressed like a pirate?" Upon sight of the "real" pirate SugarBalls removed his hat and hid his sword and ran as to avoid confrontation. I was disappointed to not get a photo.

Oh, and speaking of misadventures with SugarBalls, there was the Disco Night. Oh Sweet Baby Jesus. This is one of those occasions when you look back on a moment in you life and wonder how you found yourself to be wearing the smallest dress you have ever owned that you purchased on consignment for eight bucks, on a giant disco swing being pushed by drag queen. Wait, am I alone on this? It all began innocently enough, as all good stories do. I had finished work for the day and Snake and I were meeting Sugarballs and YetUnnamedCompanion for a drink at a local Mexican patio. When we arrived, SugarBalls started in on the peer pressure talking about how much fun this party that they were going to was gonna be, and yes it is at a gay bar but totally a mixed crowd. A few tequilas later we thought it would be a good idea. We headed to a consignment store to find some attire suitable for the Studio 54 theme. After diggin through racks and racks of horrible stuff, I see a glimmer of silver. And what to my wanderin eyes appear, a silver polyester mini dress! Joy of joys. Snake settles on some tight jeans and a crazy patterned button down. We were READY. We arrive at the club for the party, early. Nice, some of the bartenders were still furnishing their body glitter. They were very generous but Snake turned them down. Long story short, this is NOT a mixed crowd. The fact that Snake and I were there made it mixed. We were outta there by midnight.

Wow, I haven't event gotten started on Derby Day! That one will have to wait for another day! Snake is working the blender and I feel a nap coming on!!!

What's New?

Wow, so I guess it has been a while since I updated my P-readers. Oh, Lambs! It has been busy! So sorry I haven't been updating. I promise I will try to do more. So, where did I leave off? Our anniversary in Jekyll. Wow. Nutshell time.

So, the rest of our Fall was fantastic! Snake and I did all of our favorite things! We carved pumpkins, and had a great outdoor dinner party while our guests enjoyed our firepit. It was a nice night. Then the holidays rolled around and that's when things got crazy! While perusing Craigslist, I came across a job that looked fantastic. I actually knew some people involved with the company, and after some excited phone calls I got an interview. While Snake and I were enjoying the beachhouse for Thanksgiving, I got a call that I had secured said cool job! Sweet! Now, I can't leave off that Snake and I ran a 5K on Thanksgiving morning. Yep, we are pretty much badasses. Which leads me to my next point. Yall! We are so in shape! To date, there are 20+ pounds LESS of the P to love. Finally found an amazing diet that worked. Yes, I like to call it the "don't eat crap and/or drink a ton of wine" diet. Anyway, that in conjunction with my newest job/hobby, teaching BodyPump has had the Snake and I turning over a new leaf. We aren't gettin' any younger, so why not look and feel great. Enough about that.

Started the new job in mid-December. I would not recommend it my dear readers. You know me. You know that Christmas is an extravaganza that involves baking, decorating, hand made gifts, several tablescapes and our yearly Christmas Open House. Throw a brand new job in the mix and you can imagine how hectic the holidays were! I am NOT complaining. It is all good and fantastic and wonderful. Given the choice, not sure if I could have done it again.

The new job, still in my same industry of fabulousity. Now, I am more centered around weddings which is totally fine with me. I do get the rare Bridezilla, but you know the P can handle them. A good ole "Bitch, Please." said with my eyes tends to straighten them back out.

Fast forward to early February, and it is an unusually warm day and Valentine's is right around the corner. I love Valentines. Whatever, I know that it is a commercial holiday, but it is everything that a P stands for. There are good dinners out, champagne, chocolate (go easy this year Snake. Don't make me regret publicly stating that we are looking buff and then ply me with chocolate and fatten me up again.) and PRESENTS. Best of all, February 16th is our "engagement anniversary"! Yay for that. Has it already been 3 years of me wearing this bad-boy diamond? It still sparkles like new.

I am anxiously awaiting Spring as we will have some fun beach weekends! We also have the ultimate beach weekend coming up with Schem and Sack when we journey to Mexico! Mehico! I am comin'! Save me a margarita!

Yes, so all is well in the Land of P. Dolce is great. Ready for Spring too as her winter wardrobe isn't as cute. I mean who's Winter wardrobe is cuter than their Spring, anyway!?

Hope all is well with you bitches!

XOXO

Four Years of Us.

"Hey Snake, I am mighty happy we have been together for four years. It's amazin' how time flies, and don't we look all cute and matchy. Why are we taking a cute picture under this warthog?"

"Darling, it's a boar."

"Oh it looks angry. May I have more champage."

I Guess You Really Can't Go Back...

Something about this beautiful fall weather, and the leaves turning makes me nostalgic for the "old days". I was busting my butt going on a zillion sales calls today and at a stop light, I was looking at the most beautiful tree with bright orange leaves. I don't know what it was, but I began to think about my days back in Athens.

Everything came rushing back over me so quickly. Even the most tiny details were as clear as the Atlanta weather today. I could see my roomie, Carrie hanging out on the couch (nasty red futon that had been many times fouled) watching a marathon of Law and Order (Dum, DUM). I could see the view from our porch complete with our old empty keg that had been on the porch for about three months. I could see my nasty Clarks clogs, jeans and sorority t-shirt I wore daily. I could smell the fresh paint in the apartment, and see the messy disaster area that was my room. Yeah, somethings never change.

That tiny apartment was filled with such fun, angst and anticipation. For some reason, I can't help but feel that when I lived there I had a constant feeling of wanting to hit fast forward. I wanted to see where my life would take me. I knew that I was living some of the best days of my life, but all I wanted to do was move on to the next thing. Now, I am in the next thing. It is amazing and beautiful and I would change very few things about my life and my journey up to now. I have a darling husband, fantastic friends and a beautiful home. Everything a P could wish for. I guess it just goes to show that no stage of life is a "staging area" to be rushed through. Every moment is to be cherished and appreciated for what it is.

Ok, I need a cocktail now! Hugs!

Other Things I Am Loving Now...

Forever 21
http://www.forever21.com/default.asp

I am so into this store right now. Ok, so before you run out and burn a hole in your debit card I must warn you that despite the adorable and VERY reasonably priced duds that they have some major fit issues. What do you expect from a place that offers a sweater for $14.99, but be warned. An adorable top in a size Medium can range from "Medium if you are 11 and have issues with food" to "Medium if you are thinking that Lane Bryant is running small".

Things I Love Right Now

Firefly:

Sweet Tea Flavored Vodka. I kid you not. YUM. I had tasted this at a party a few weeks ago, and really enjoyed it, but since I was driving I wisely switched to regular tea. This stuff is getting pretty hard to find in Atlanta as many people are generally freaking out and getting giddy over (and on) it. I was innocently driving down Peachtree and saw a sign that said "We have Firefly," and I commenced to break at least 5 traffic ordinances.

This weekend, I decided to give ole Firefly a go in earnest. After two cocktails (mixed with lemonade) I was dancing in the street and could not feel my face. Yum.

Firefly, I dub thee the "best tailgate cocktail ever."
